CRHL Rules Update Winter 2016/2017

Here’s a quick rundown of some of the rules for the winter 2016/2017 season including some small changes:

  • Players need to play 7 of 16 regular season games in order to be eligible for playoffs
  • High sticking the puck will be immediately called, referees will no longer wait for possession
  • Facial protection is not mandatory but highly recommended
    • Players without facial protection are not covered under any insurance
  • Players can play on two teams in the same division, but have to choose a team when playoff elimination games arrive
    • If one team is eliminated, the player cannot rejoin the other team
  • 1 game suspensions cannot be appealed
  • Rescheduled games require 2 weeks notice
  • Forfeited games will result in the loss of the $150 security bond
